Sometimes #circumcision may be necessary to alleviate phimosis, which is infinitesimally rare. As “disease prevention,” it’s pseudo-medicine that does next to nothing. Like lobotomy, blood-letting and trepanning. Only religious kooks and charlatans swear by it. #i2

A full circumcision is rarely required. A dorsal slit could be performed to retain as much of the foreskin as possible.

Intactivists would do well to study up on the matter; cutters pounce on anything and everything to discredit us. Circumcision may be necessary in the case of Balanitis Xerotica Obliterans. As I’ve said, it’s extremely rare and only diagnosed in adults. #i2 http://joseph4gi.blogspot.com/2016/09/phimosis-lost-knowledge-missing-in.html …

The only real condition of phimosis is of foreskin is stuck in retracted form, that means serious harm was already done to the ferenulum. Or if you start getting glans necrosis [blood obstruction]. both of those cured without cutting off stuff. There's a serious ignorance in US

False. The condition where the foreskin is stuck behind the glans as a result of forcible retraction is called “paraphimosis.” “True phimosis” is a stricture in the preputial meatus that is a result of lesions from Balanitis Xlerotica Obliterans. Knowledge is power. Please read up on the subject so that you are better informed and you can better inform others. #i2 http://joseph4gi.blogspot.com/2016/09/phimosis-lost-knowledge-missing-in.html …

Awesome article, has some weird cancer scare. But other data is accurate

I include the cancer scare because that’s a common pro-circ prophylaxis argument, and readers ought to be aware that there is a tiny bit of truth to it, if only 1/10,000th of the truth or so. (I forget the actual number...)

Is that phimosis ? Yeah that NEVER ever warrants amputation of foreskin. Just another excuse. As someone who deals with foreskin everyday ill tell you this. foreskin is NOT supposed to retract entirely, the edges of the glans are okay to NOT be exposed during erection.

Sounds like you haven’t studied up on the subject. Phimosis, true phimosis, refers to a condition where the opening of the foreskin constricts as a result of lesions caused by Balanitis Xlerotica Obliterans (BXO). #i2

Unfortunately, American drs have come to call any condition where the foreskin does not retract “phimosis,” thereby pathologizing normal conditions. I’m intact too, BTW. #i2 http://joseph4gi.blogspot.com/2016/09/phimosis-lost-knowledge-missing-in.html …
