Proponents of a practice don’t *ever* think there’s anything wrong with what they do. Expecting advocates of male #circumcision to admit it’s abusive, unethical practice is like expecting advocates of #FGM to admit it’s abusive, unethical practice. It’s never going to happen. #i2

Seems to me nobody really knows how to take intactivism to the next level, and so a multi-prong approach might be best where we all just try whatever we think we can do and see who has the most success after a few years.

That’s kinda been intactivism for the last few decades... we *have* come a long way for sure, but I think we’ve plateaued. I think the reason for this might *be* that we’re trying all these things. Too many channels open...

I think we need to narrow down to what is most effective and concentrate on that. The problem is intactivists can’t seem to agree on what that is; everyone thinks their idea is the best.

Yeah, I think other historical struggles for civil rights are instructive. Seems like they all simmered for a long time beneath public awareness before exploding in a way ppl couldn't ignore. Gay rights had Stonewall, for instance; back ppl had the Montgomery bus boycott

Maybe something similar will happen with intactivism. Maybe we'll have to wait for some galvanizing event before we can really expect intactivism to take off from the plateau we're currently stuck on

The parent-child education strategy has the power to split hell wide open. Me and my friends caused riots on Halloween night by deploying it.

Good luck with that...
