#HealthcareAndSecularism James Chedwiggen: the law may have a role in protecting children's rights and ending circumcision, but it won't work without cultural change.
Worth noting that 62% in UK would support a ban on circumcisionhttps://www.secularism.org.uk/news/2018/02/nss-says-uk-should-follow-icelands-lead-to-end-genital-cutting …

I have never met any adult men who say they would have preferred NOT to be circumcised, including me ;-) And, it's a heck of lot better to get it done when a baby than when an adult ! I think people need to mind their own children's business ! TMI ? LOL

When the conversation is about
#FGM, the focus is on the individual; the person whose body and whose human rights are being violated. When it’s about male infant#circumcision, the focus is on his parents, their#religiousfreedom and#parentalchoice. Why is that.

Because PARENTS are legally responsible for/in control of the care of THEIR children until at least the age of 18(?). My mother was a nurse(RN) and knew the BENEFITS of circumcision ;-)

My father was uncircumcised but, approved of ALL four(4) of his sons being circumcised (He too probably knew the BENEFITS outweighed a very short time of discomfort if any ?).

Some mothers approve circumcision for all of their daughters. I’m sure they believe it’s “beneficial” too. You would circumcise yourself and your daughters if there were “benefits” too, huh. Wouldn’t you. Yes, I’m sure it’s all about “benefits.”

Except that’s not entirely true. Here, let me educate you since you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about... ahem...

There is a variety of
#FGM. The@WHO categorizes then into four. Not all varieties remove the clitoris. Actually, none do, or can. Male infant#circumcision is always compared to the worst kind in Africa, false comparison since it’s not being compared to male circ in Africa.#i23 replies 0 retweets 1 like -
LOL, Now you're using the extreme to justify yourself(an act of desperation). Male & female circumcision are NOT the same ! Typical male circumcision does not remove the whole penis but, the common form of female circumcision removes the whole clitoris ! Bye, fool !

”Typical male circumcision does not remove the whole penis but, the common form of female circumcision removes the whole clitoris !”
You keep repeating this as if repetition made it true. No, the most common form of #FGM removed the clitoral hood. Are you OK with this? #i2
