#HealthcareAndSecularism James Chedwiggen: the law may have a role in protecting children's rights and ending circumcision, but it won't work without cultural change.
Worth noting that 62% in UK would support a ban on circumcisionhttps://www.secularism.org.uk/news/2018/02/nss-says-uk-should-follow-icelands-lead-to-end-genital-cutting …
Some mothers approve circumcision for all of their daughters. I’m sure they believe it’s “beneficial” too. You would circumcise yourself and your daughters if there were “benefits” too, huh. Wouldn’t you. Yes, I’m sure it’s all about “benefits.”

Except that’s not entirely true. Here, let me educate you since you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about... ahem...

There is a variety of
#FGM. The@WHO categorizes then into four. Not all varieties remove the clitoris. Actually, none do, or can. Male infant#circumcision is always compared to the worst kind in Africa, false comparison since it’s not being compared to male circ in Africa.#i2 -
The clitoris extends deep within the vulva. What is removed, if any, is the tip, which, I’m sorry, if you knew anything about human anatomy you’d know the shaft is much greater in males than the tiny clitoris.

Male infant circumcision shouldn’t be compared to
#FGM in the African bush; it should be compared with female infant#circumcision as it is performed in hospitals by trained physicians. African FGM is correctly compared with African male circumcision, which is as brutal.#i2 -
What’s more, you need to examine your argument because it shoots women in the pussy; are you actually saying you’d advocate for
#FGM that is comparable to male#circumcision? How much flesh would you be OK with removing in a girl? Why is there an “acceptable” level for boys?#i2pic.twitter.com/Iu0WHSxh6f

Would you be ready to undergo
#circumcision and submit your daughters to it if some dr furnished “studies” saying it were “beneficial?” What would you tell the dr who offered to do this for you? This would speak volumes.#i2 http://blog.practicalethics.ox.ac.uk/2017/08/does-female-genital-mutilation-have-health-benefits-the-problem-with-medicalizing-morality/ … -
No, I would rationally educate myself like my parents did/were and from their own personal experience/knowledge ;-)~
