It might be the same.. Is a mostly forgotten story, dead or lost.. It ceases being the story when parts are gone.

Words are tricky aren't they?To me dead usually infers something that is gone (forever?) but lost maintains hope of uncovering or stumbling upon the origin(al). I do get the essence of ur post though.
