We need to find some way to look up, and not around. When we look around, it's not that we have figured out what we want to do. It just ends up being the hyper copycat mimetic crazed environment. We need to find some transcendence.

Struck by his phrasing. "The first and last are - in some sense - the important ones" Watched my fair share of Thiel interviews & this is the first where he uses a religious frame when espousing his philosophy. Maybe with JBPwave his sense is now the public is ready.

When people hear 10 commandments they usually remember the ones about killing, stealing, and committing adultery. The fact he picks the first and last as “the important ones” is most interesting.
