.@MimeticValue @dopaminendreams what are your thoughts on Confucius? Where does he fit into the history of Chinese spiritualism/philosophy?
(Could Wikipedia, but finding more value in interaction + spreading of worthwhile signals)

I’m a bit rusty on on Confucius btw, but in Chinese the word for ritual 礼 is also used in the words for respect or politeness.

Same. I'm more of a Lao Tzu, Zongmi and Huangbo type of guy. Thanks for what you said, it illustrates better the loyalty/respect omnipresence in chinese cosmovision. See Mandate of Heaven. I don't know if any culture around the globe had something like that.

Cyclical nature is not only justified but REAL. "We've seen the likes of you many times before and you shall too go away" -Hasegawa Saburo on chinese reactions to the japanese invasion.pic.twitter.com/bfrrV0mt13

mandate of heaven seems like the meme of divine right of kings which emerged in europe in rome too, they used to deify nobles like caesar and augustus notice : laurel wreath on napoleons head to show the divinity and ascension to emporer (from greek gods)pic.twitter.com/WDh6AgOTXq

Sober: dress in t-shirt and jeans Faded: submerge oneself in garb to ostentaciously and lavishly display the ascension from mortal to God.
-
Woke: Sobriety is asceticism.
