6| This is in part due to the metaphysical-shaped hole in modern lives due to the collapse of organized religion. Once you recognize this behavior as metaphysical-searching, you can cast aside these insignificant signals crowding up the medium and focus on what it is meant for.
Chinese, Japanese, Korean are the worst.. then Indian and Thai.. but if you look at English adoption over time, it will continue upward in time. And so will translation software. So that gap will disappear, I suspect within 5 years if I had to put a number on it.

I agree on the accelerated adoption of English. But language shapes the way we think and certain concepts and ideas are easily articulated in some languages, while impossible in others. We might end up crowding out certain modes of thinking leading to less diversity of thought 1/

English was an example. Social media shortens the distance btwn individuals by relieving our physicality in a sense. But doesnt help them understand each other better. Only those who already have the capacity to understand different viewpoints exploit the interconnectedness fully
