Performance Art Thread: To perform art is to communicate symbolic meaning via performance. When does the performance begin? When does the performance stop? Isn't it all a performance? Are you sure? In this moment, which performance is more enjoyable? ACTION = PERFORMANCE

We're performing our mimetic entanglement, sending out signals to climb a hierarchy. Send out the right signals. There are under-represented signals in the collective consciousness. Enjoy their transmission. If you're not enjoying your performance, start your next exhibition.

Joseph Beuys covered his head + face in gold leaf + honey. Tied a slab of iron to one boot, a felt pad to the other, and cradled a dead hare in his arms. In his performance, he explained to the dead hare the symbolic meaning of his paintings around the room.

(Gold=wealth Iron=conductor of invisible energies Felt= Protection) = material Dead hare= Thought piece on the meaning of symbolism. We are moving through life covering ourselves with material trying to explain the meaning of our performances to a dead hare.

Yoko Ono did one of the most under appreciated performance art pieces in recent history. Why she is so often overlooked by “high brow” wannabe art “critics” amazes me. Her long standing exhibit at MOMA years ago in NYC was absolutely beautiful.

In her performance art piece, she did a cover of the Adele song, “Someone like you”. She proceeded to scream into the microphone for the duration of the song. She whined, yelled, and made an emotional scene, to a stunned audience. She is seen laughing afterwards.

She conveys her critique of modern music without uttering one word. Capturing the essence of Adele, and breaking it down into its most fundamental piece. Emotional whining.

Performance art on “MSM”. Sacha draws attention to the absurd performance of politics by performing as a “news correspondent”. The punchline is R’s advocating toddlers w guns. But the object of the performance is a joke on the medium of the media.https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=632&v=QkXeMoBPSDk …
