Can two friends aware of their mimetic entanglement laugh about it?

Good question. This might be similar to persuasion psychology. Both Scott Adams and Robert Cialdini said that knowing about it consciously doesn't help much.https://twitter.com/DrunkOnHemlock/status/1014577407372746752 …

My view might be controversial, but I don’t think it wasn’t shared with Girard. It’s that you can never rid yourself of Mimetic desire, you can only to some degree channel it into a model. The choice of model matters greatly, Girard recommends Christ.

I think that's not controversial. The sutric Buddhist solution is to dissolve that desire into emptiness. The Nietzschean and tantric solutions are to feel and observe the desire with amor fati. I still haven't figured out what's the best path yet (different path for diff people)

I think Christian idea is not far off, they’re are linguistic differences, Jesus “empties himself” to be filled with “the Father”. It is very preoccupied with justice though and I don’t find that in other sources. Nietzschean ideas are sort of Super Protestant

Christ is the Tao. "No one comes to the Father but through Me" - John 14:6 Christ is the Gateless Gate?

In my increasing awareness I see what I mime and what I do on my own (and never getting a prize for it, like looking at the orange matress for 15 minutes). I found some peace in seeing the dynamics and the hard truth developing themselves. Acceptance is recommended
