3| It has now become fashionable for professors to attach themselves to this idw movement in order to boost their popularity. Be very weary of charlatans gaming the system for selfish purposes. Just yesterday, I saw a professor delete a tweet when challenged.

4| The egotism associated with platform, is a problem for this movement. JBP appears to be the only one pursuing answers and willing to admit he was wrong. It’s irrelevant who the smartest is, if they are reluctant to adjust views and grow.

5| Be weary of anyone with a “narrative”. Specifically, Pinker appears to be one of the worst offenders of this. His entire presence exists to push a pre-determined narrative. This is not someone who is willing to take in new data and grow.

6| Be weary of the “comfortable”, making a living off of their message. We don’t need just a variety of opinions from calcified academics. We need genuine attempts at discovering the best path forward. Look for the authentic. Authenticity above all.

JBP is one of the most authentic and scientifically legit individuals I’ve come across. From what he’s said, he’s willing to change any one of his views if the argument against them is compelling enough. Still though, he’s only human. Humans are biased in so many different ways.
