I've diagnosed why there exists Marxists in the West, a thread: They tend to study liberal arts and suck at math, but this is only possible because of sound money giving them the low time preference allowing them to work on art and literary criticism.https://twitter.com/MimeticValue/status/1015388012975394817 …

      Mimetïc Value added,

3 reasons for sound money: 1. Lowering time preference initiates cooperation in civilization. 2. Trade based on stable unit of measure and unit of account increases reliability. (Consistency is a Cialdini rule for influence.) 3. Requirement for individual freedom from despotism.

When people go study liberal arts, they get Marxist professors. And they are brilliant at what they do. They can sound clever and insightful when analyzing art and literature. Due to halo effect, students assume that they also know what they are talking about in economics.

Studying liberal arts requires a holistic rather than decoupled state of mind. When you combine this with having a Marxist professor, then when your tool is a sickle&hammer, every problem looks like a nail.https://everythingstudies.com/2018/04/26/a-deep-dive-into-the-harris-klein-controversy/ …

This leads to magical thinking regarding social problems. Liberal arts students are explorers, while STEM students are verifiers. When you explore without rigorous verification, you can fall into magical thinking.https://twitter.com/MimeticValue/status/1013602116529729537 …

      Mimetïc Value added,

      Mimetïc Value @MimeticValue
2 modes of thinking: exploration vs verification Explorers need to drop their egos when verifiers question their claims. Verifiers need to be open to the possibility that explorers are on to something new.

Marxism is simply a mindset where you think money works like magic. It's the cargo cult approach to economics. Magical thinkers who haven't done sufficient verification and decoupling fall for it.https://twitter.com/MimeticValue/status/1015394199934521345 …

Advocating for unsound monetary policy is the most dangerous form of magical thinking. https://twitter.com/saifedean/status/1015392697606180870 …

Magical thinkers are optimists who believe that their magic can solve any problem. 90% of Western Marxists are naive seekers of utopia, and have no understanding or exposure to real world risks. 10% are evil manipulators who seek to destroy civilization.https://twitter.com/saifedean/status/1015392697606180870 …

Marxist stupidity is only funny when you don't think of its consequences. Every criminal despot propagated Marxist monetary brain damage to get away with replacing money with debt scrip. Morons who repeat it today ought to be despised & shunned, not engaged & respected.

Thus, we have this academia machine where evil manipulators (Marxist professors) create more Marxists by fooling naive optimists (young college students) through the propagation of magical thinking rather than clear thinking.

This is even more apparent in media. Consider experienced news “journalists” at cnn or fox. It seems unlikely they are unaware of their angle, yet indoctrinating naive interns and young employees every day.
