Hey Jordan. I have a BIG herniated disc and researching. Hope you don't mind a few questions? If so ignore the rest
how long before you had surgery? What did you try before? How bad was the siatica pain? How big was the hernia? what type of surgery was it and how did it go?

I had a big herniated disc that was pressed up on my sciatic nerve (L5-S1). A piece of that disc that was compressed on the nerve broke off into my spinal column, causing severe muscle spasms in my butt, hamstring, and calf and causing my left foot to be completely numb.

You can heal it without back surgery. No guarantee surgery will work

Have numbness in my foot. 2 doctors have told me herniation is too big to be helped by PT, chiropractic (which I've been trying). I don't want to mess around for months when I have nerve damage already

I’m dealing with the same thing. L5/S1 disc protrusion. Sucks major balls. My 5th week off of work due to it.

Worst pain I've ever dealt with!!

I hear if you do get back surgery, you should get it right away. Just make sure you dont ignore what caused the problem. I herniated my disc 14 years ago and I'm constantly doing exercise particular for strengthening my core and improving posture. Good luck.

Yes, I'm doing it as soon as I can. Will be doing PT after and strengthening core/stretching

I've had 3 back surgeries for that exact problem. Good luck. You'll feel a million times better after the surgery.
