Super effective strategy to win people over here.
Always the fault of the voters. Never the terrible politicians. Next go tell the black men who stayed home in Milwaukee and Detroit and Philly about their privilege.https://twitter.com/atrupar/status/1309641368424402945 …

the exact same thing is happening now. If journalists spent as much time demanding Biden give SOMETHING to progressives/young people to actually inspire them to vote beyond...Trump is a fascist!....that they do trying to shame/guilt them, they would get the result they want.
-
If you are broke, or without healthcare, or drowning in debt, or working 2-3 jobs...you need more than "the other guy is a threat to Democracy" (screamed from mostly comfortable people) to get you to actually vote.

Journalists don't make this mistake. Hacks like Aaron do.

So the new definition of Democracy is you vote for who ever we tell you to vote for.

In needing to continually fight to secure the right to vote, we can come to overlook the equally important responsibility it entails. It's not about picking the candidate that most actualizes you, or that you've fallen for. It's your duty to others.
-
Voting isn't a moral duty, it's a transaction between a politician offering policy and people whose lives would be materially improved by that policy. If the politician appears to offer nothing, people will not vote for that politician who doesn't represent their interests.

Misogyny. That's why they didn't vote for Hillary. That was easy.
