NEWS: Multiple @BernieSanders-supporting members of @DNC Convention Rules Committee tell me that on conference call Wednesday, Sanders senior camp adviser Jeff Weaver asked all Bernie-supporting members to drop their proposals or "they'd be going against the movement" (thread)

"This is what Bernie wants," one source recounted Weaver saying on call. Proposals Weaver asked members to drop: 1) Superdelegates on second ballot permanent 2) Eliminating superdelegates altogether 3) Expanded mail-in-ballots, longer voting hours, expanded early vote

4) A proposal to move more states from holding caucuses to primaries. They want a "puppet meeting,"- source tells me. "At least the platform committee could make some proposals."

As
@StatusCoup previously reported, Weaver was the "de facto co-campaign manager" -a former top campaign staffer told SChttps://statuscoup.com/inside-bernie-2020-how-the-revolutionary-became-his-own-worst-enemy/ …Show this thread -
On the conference call was Weaver, Bernie campaign lawyer, a few staffers, and Bernie-supporting members of the rules committee. Jeff Weaver was leading the "sort of bullying to convince everyone to drop their proposals," source tells me.

Jeff Weaver considering the status quo a “deal” is why we can’t have nice things.

Unaware of context, but keeping the superdelegates off the first ballot is a good thing.
