Just a grand or two?! Once of? To be sent in three weeks?! Nah bruh..
He ensured near full unemployment benefits for a year—significantly more than $1,200 one time payment
So if he voted no, you would be criticizing him?
If his no vote held up the bill from passing—yes
taking a stand right now, while it might look bad in the moment, would have been the courageous thing to do. what happened instead was theater, the same political show that got us our reality TV president, and he is better at the game. Trump will ultimately take the credit
I think that’s the reality. Stoller is right that the bill is horrific, but one vote alone in the Senate can’t undo corruption in DC by itself.
McConnell was bluffing on the corp bailout. He needed a relief bill for working people to keep the GOP from being massacred in upcoming elections. Unfortunately no Dem was willing to call his bluff.
The same shit they said in 2008 and 2009: Give the corporations all the money or else America will fall apart.
I'd been wondering why he couldn't block the corporate section proactively, rather than in response to the GOP objectors. And why couldn't Warren have joined in.
Warren *could* have joined in. They all *could* have joined in. They don't *want* to join in because they're there to represent corporations. Bernie is literally alone on that because he doesn't take their money, yet people in this thread are bashing him. That's very misplaced.
