So...in a week...they've just magically been able to come up w/almost TWO TRILLION DOLLARS (incl the money used to prop up the crashing markets), but can't afford Medicare for All, or to provide drinkable water to MI, or provide adequate mental hlth svcs and on and on?!!

It would be helpful if you understood why liquidity is added and how disastrous it would be if it wasn't. It's not remotely the same thing as giving money away.

At the rate we're going, entire industries and massive numbers of small businesses are going to fail and millions of people won't have jobs when this is over.

So people will pay less taxes on the wages they are not earning because of a pandemic. That is some sound Republican logic. The Dems will buckle. And the people will get screwed. Same playbook.
-
Yep. In other words, the people who least need the money...those gainfully employed/making good money/with pd sick and vaca time...will get a bonus! People who make minimum wage, will see next to no gain, and as you say...people out of work? How does this help?? Dems WILL cave.

The payroll tax cut doesn’t do anything except weaken social security. Plus if you’re not working there’s no payroll to tax! If it doesn’t destabilize SS at the very least it will lessen what seniors will receive at retirement. Working class get screwed. AGAIN!
