Check this out: I started a new job in January, but didn’t have dental coverage until July. Went to the dentist yesterday and learned that I need to have a root canal done. As a state legislator, my dental insurance won’t pay anything for the procedure. It will cost over $3,500.

It’s bad enough that so many people in our extremely wealthy country do not have health insurance at all and can’t see a doctor when they need to. But further: If this is my experience as a state legislator, how much worse is it for the under-insured who are less privileged?

I’ve paid over $6k in root canals over last 2 years. Luckily I has some savings. Dental issues can be crippling and most can’t afford the wild cost. #MedicareForAll
