I could see their excuse as being somewhat plausible. Mainly, I'm thinking: what if these accusations were being made about someone else? We'd call ABC irresponsible if they couldn't get enough to corroborate the story. Also, it's from Project Veritas, so likely missing context.

Though, at the same time, we've seen stories killed before in mainstream networks so they don't lose access, so I'd only go so far as saying it's plausible.
