It actually hurts Iowans. The phone in system required pre-registration of Dem voters. Each registered Dem voter requesting to phone in would be given a specific day & time they had to call in to vote. It would have allowed elderly & ppl w/ mobility issues to participate...

This "first in the nation" nonsense needs to go. Standardize the primary voting schedule in all states and territories around a single election day, with a 2 week period of early voting.

While we're at it, let's simplify the process into a single all-party primary with ranked choice voting. Instead of "us vs. them" which leaves independents out, let the best two candidates - regardless of party affiliation - advance to the general.
