Pretty irresponsible by Sanders campaign manager @fshakir to endorse the theory that polls are "oversampling" older voters. Short THREAD follows:https://twitter.com/StatusCoup/status/1138508125127024642 …

Over half of respondents in that poll were over the age of 50. Emerson then weighted the results to align with a “2016 voter model of gender, age, region and ethnicity” like every other poll. But apparently it’s an “acceptable” poll because Bernie does well in it?

It's not that they can't reach them, it's that they can't get a response rate from them that is proportional to their representation in the Census, hence the need for weighting. The Emerson poll's methodology notes that the data has been weighted. It's standard practice.

O you just weight it subjectively. Sounds like the process of gerrymandering in every state ruining democracy. Nate has missed the majority of close elections across the board. And its honestly gross the people who defend 300+ ppl as math and lick his boots.

No there wasn't. You assume there was record turnout. Highest turnout was 18% for the youngest demo. That was achieved in 2008. 2018 was 14%. They have a large block but they aren't using their advantage.
