I think @mtracey is right on a lot of issues-primarily #RussiaGate. With that said, this is an awful take and wreaks of out-of-touch privilege. You don't minimize homophobia & bigotry and tell someone being harassed to "get over it." It doesn't matterhttps://twitter.com/thetomzone/status/1136430766144065543 …

You may want to watch the entire video rather than circulate a truncated clip tweeted by a notorious liar and troll.

I did watch the whole thing. You minimized a gay journalist being harassed over his sexual orientation by Crowder as part of a "screaming hoard of moralizing media people who want their own preferences and whims to be reflected in the policy of the company." Someone calling for

OK. Still, bad move to circulate a clip from this disgusting, disgraced liar. Maza is a professional adult journalist working for a major media company who claims he needs "protection" from YouTube because some juvenile asshole (Crowder) mocked him. Yeah, I find that pathetic.

I don't really see what who tweeted the clip has to do with WHAT YOU SAID IN YOUR VIDEO. You're deflecting now. And again, you continuing to minimize him as just being thin-skinned at being "mocked" shows you clearly don't get the difference bw juvenile mockery and open bigotry

I wrote an entire column on the subject here, feel free to read. I'm against the infantilization of journalism, where adults cry to "teachers" to impose disciplinary action on their adversaries, and pressure platforms to more stringently regulate speechhttps://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1136705807553310722 …

The idea that YouTube needs to "protect" him is ridiculous and infantile https://spectator.us/steven-crowder-carlos-maza-playground/ …Show this thread5 replies 2 retweets 20 likes -

Michael--you are not getting the point. IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT THE GUY IS A JOURNALIST. He is a gay man in America being attacked for his sexual orientation by a host with a big platform. You are fixated on the media aspect. I am focused on the bigotry and harassment.

I call out the corporate media and its propaganda, elitism, and out-of-touchness daily. But it really is irrelevant that this is a journalist who went public. This isn't someone calling out his "enemy." This is someone calling out a homophobe inciting harassment against him.
