I think @mtracey is right on a lot of issues-primarily #RussiaGate. With that said, this is an awful take and wreaks of out-of-touch privilege. You don't minimize homophobia & bigotry and tell someone being harassed to "get over it." It doesn't matterhttps://twitter.com/thetomzone/status/1136430766144065543 …

Yeah, it does matter that he's a journalist. That makes him a public figure. He's not some random citizen. Part of his job, which a major media company pays him for, is to make provocative political statements online. That means you have to expect mockery and ridicule in return.

Harassment & homophobia IS NOT THE SAME THING as mockery and ridicule. Mockery and ridicule is mocking Wolf Blitzer for being a human snail who fluffs corrupt politicians pillows for a living. Publicly castigating someone with homophobic slurs is not mocking or being provocative

I call out the corporate media and its propaganda, elitism, and out-of-touchness daily. But it really is irrelevant that this is a journalist who went public. This isn't someone calling out his "enemy." This is someone calling out a homophobe inciting harassment against him.
