Truly unfathomable to me @jonathanchait gets paid to write on politics. He gets 99.9% of this wrong on the facts, what drives @SenSanders supporters (probably bc he rarely leaves coastal Ivory Tower) and @BetoORourke being a “threat” to Bernie (he’s not)http://nymag.com/intelligencer/amp/2018/12/bernie-sanders-beto-orourke-feud-2020-campaign-democratic.html?utm_source=tw&__twitter_impression=true …

@SenSanders won 13 million votes. He’s most popular politician in U.S (& polls very high among Dems today). Once Beto’s record and donations hits mainstream, there are VERY FEW Bernie supporters that would flee to Beto, who is a centrist/moderate not much different than Clinton4 replies 0 retweets 5 likes -

I think you are wrong in that Beto could best Bernie and might do it by peeling some of the Bernie voters who just hated Clinton. Also Beto refused pac money it should be noted

Considering I interviewed probably 1,000 Bernie voters in 2016 and after and know what drives them—I can assure you maybe 2-3% of them would vote for Beto. They are not about personality—they are about policy. Also, Beto broke his no fossil fuel pledge-which is public knowledge

Agreed man. But the people who showed up for Bernie rallies and those who voted for him are two different demos. Will be interesting but I think a lot of the attacks on his progressive credentials miss the larger picture

Not be an appetite among progressives who voted for Bernie. Only real threat to Bernie of splintering progressives is Warren-not Beto

Considering these wizards are same folks who said majority of @SenSanders voters would “come home” to @HillaryClinton & thought Trump had no chance in general—I’ll go w/ my observational eye on the progressive vote than pollsters REALLY stretching meaning of progressive voters

Nobody's inspired by rich businessman posing as "progressive" whose sponsors are in the oil and gas industry. And "he doesn't take pac money" is disingenuous, they have plenty of "loopholes" to exploit and he and all
