Hey dude. Lying down is ok (unless I've been walking too much). Walking for a bit is ok but then quickly hurts a lot. Can't stand up straight, have to keep bending from side to side. Sometimes if bent enough the pain goes. pain is intense sciatic. Can't Sit down. Its been 3 weeks

Yeah. They just tell me it's a big herniation. There's not much chance it'll reabsorb, to big. But maybe with anti inflammatories it can stop the pain for potentially a few years. BUT started the course and so far nothing. They want to wait another 3 weeks

did they say if it's pressed on your sciatic nerve?

100%. The sciatica pain is intense. There's some back discomfort but it's all sciatica pain. They're trying anti inflammatory to hopefully take some pressure off the nerve and reduce nerve inflammation. But it doesn't feel like it's working

Without seeing how large the herniation is or what disc is involved, physical therapy MIGHT be able to help the disc move back into the correct space. For me, I was too far gone for that to happen because a piece of the disc broke off and was stuck in my spinal column.

Also you never know. Traumatologist could say it won't move. But some chiros think decompression can fix any herniation not matter how big. I'm dubious. So we're you in this much pain?

My suggestion....DO NOT try chiropractic if you have a herniated disc pressing on your sciatic nerve. In my case, I think it actually made it worse and caused the large piece of my disc to break off and get stuck.

If you don't have numbness yet in your foot, that's GOOD (my whole left foot was numb). But the moment you start feeling numbness...you need surgery.

Thanks man. Yeah side of leg is a bit numb but I think that's normal. Foot movement is ok. Yeah I think it'll be surgery till be honest. The guy I saw was a surgeon I think he just wants to wait. It's been 3 weeks so far. Thanks for the chiro tip.

yea without seeing your MRI or knowing the full details, I just know that when you have a disc pressing on the nerve, chiropractic can actually cause disc to break off
