MI official came to Amanda's home & illegally ran her water for a minute b4 taking lead sample--a violation of EPA regulations (artificially lowers level). Result: they told her no lead in her water. She has thyroid cancer. #FlintWaterCrisis INVESTIGATION: https://medium.com/status-coup/exclusive-flint-water-declared-restored-after-michigan-s-environmental-agency-broke-epa-testing-3e2fc1f91a70 …pic.twitter.com/5nrgCwVIXa
lead can effect kidneys (she has spots on her kidney that haven't been biopsied yet). Thyroid less clear. In the video and investigative story, made clear I can't draw cause and effect as no definitive way to know.

I'm a retired board certified pathologist who has seen a lot of thyroid & kidney disease. Lead is not known to be a risk factor for thyroid cancer. Kidney biopsies r almost always done 4 non-neoplastic kidney disease. Suspected renal neoplasms (by imaging) r only rarely biopsied.
