I actually have been to mostly black communities in last 3 years reporting. The point isn’t to say GOP isn’t bought off. They are 100% bought off. The point is the Dems are main party black people depend on to defeat extreme conservatism—the problem is, in the communities

I go into that are predominately black—like Flint, East Chicago Indiana, Chicago—the results have been horrid under DEM leadership. Why? Bc they are serving donors and developers rather than their community

This isn’t me as a white privileged person talking-this is me seeing up close in the field how black communities have not gotten better-they have largely stayed the same—whether Dem or GOP, over last 2-3 decades. Remember: the end of welfare happened under Bill Clinton.

Crime bill happened under Bill Clinton. Deregulation and Glass-Steagall happened under Bill Clinton. Explosion in police killings of black men happened under Obama. Poisoning of Flint happened under Obama (he did nothing 4 them). Does that make Republicans better? NO FUCKING WAY

But point is—if u think constantly voting under “don’t make it worse than it is now” means things won’t get worse if the lesser of 2 evils wins, u are wrong. Only way for real change to happen is to break the cycle. Unfortunately, that sometimes means getting way worse b4 better
