Here are the kinds of people on
@WBEZ “clout list” — Gov. Jim Edgar & former reps from both parties: Republicans Davis Harris & Steve Andersson and Dems Barbara Flynn Currie & Naomi Jakobson. ANYONE who's worked in Springfield could put these names on a list. No clout needed. 3/Xpic.twitter.com/Q1Cr6UOsUA

At this moment in time, to insinuate that qualified women and especially women of color, needed the approval of a white man to get their jobs, erases their accomplishments and entire work history they’ve built on their own. 8/X

Also, it’s just flat out wrong. These women stood on their own merits and we didn’t need a list or anyone’s approval to see how qualified they were. 9/X

I know this is an easy narrative that has been reported administration after administration, but when you’re dealing with the careers of incredibly qualified and accomplished public servants, they deserve more than being used as fodder for a cheap hit piece. 24/24
