economics will determine over 5-10 years Hybrids and all electric cars will be the dominant car but my point is why do so many feel they need to use their car ? Brum is not unique in this, many other cities far worse
Some of these routes already have train lines that could be better used. Far better to use investment to open up new routes. The A34 north has superb and popular high speed bus services that are being undermined by city council policies.

they do not though Jon, you could claim to the NEC is served well but Tram is so much better as on direct routes and in fact in most areas would be served by tram, tube and rail (or combo of two … train station to NEC does not serve Yardley and sheldon

Yardley, Sheldon & surrounding areas are natural local workforce for NEC, I live on Shirley Rd and worked at NEC it was quicker to go into Birmingham and come back again so I got a car

Manchester used existing train lines for 1st metro route encouraged Park & Ride and were in the black within a year that was in the 80’s. Now families have so many cars they park up & block the pavements but police & BCC don’t care
