It continues: “...strike action scheduled for tomorrow has been suspended. If

Chances of
@BhamCityCouncil cabinet rejecting deal? I’d say zero. Nobody wants this to drag on any longer...not least residents.1 antwoord 1 retweet 0 vind-ik-leuksDeze collectie tonen -
Since the dispute started there have been three days of strike action - each costing
@BhamCityCouncil an estimated £500k. That’s a staggering £1.5million. Cost of coping with overtime ban and work to rule in place since the end of December has been estimated at £350k a week.1 antwoord 0 retweets 1 vind-ik-leukDeze collectie tonen -
And let’s not even think about the legal costs. On top of that
@BrumLeader has to face down a mutiny from a significant group of his own backbenchers for taking the unions to court - a gamble that backfired.1 antwoord 2 retweets 1 vind-ik-leukDeze collectie tonen -
But...having said all that...I do hope this really is it, for the sake of every household in the city who’ve been caught in the middle.

One source has suggested proclaiming it over bar the shouting might be optimistic, given how often a deal has seemed likely before, only for defeat to be snatched from the jaws of victory...

What is needed to reassure residents is clear legal advice telling the public whether or not this 'deal' will end up causing further legal action. Just over 13hours till cabinet still no paperwork for the meeting. Can't possibly be considered fully given all complex legal issues

Having first glance at paperwork not a clear answer on that question. Talk of need to consult unions without naming who they mean
