is this about @SkylarJordan 's article? they've gone fully loony tunes....

Wow, I hope not, but it shouldn’t be happening to anyone
-
sorry, trigger happy typing - its about sarah vines article which I feel slightly less defensive of!
-
Ooooh I’ve not read it
-
I don't care whose article it is - it's the principle that matters. I don't care for Sarah Vine - but her free speech is my free speech is your free speech.
-
but as a matter of principle it is also not an absolute right and it may be qualified in certain circumstances. However, incitement and hate speech v high threshold. Depending on content of article (which I've not read) there might be IPSO code issues.
-
A quick read of the article should be enough to dispatch all these possibilities. That's the problem: the police feel empowered to get involved in obviously non-criminal speech. This is getting more and more common.
-
I am absolutely no fan of Vine or the Mail, but I’ve read it and (esp. by DM standards) it’s pretty measured, and brings up some very legitimate points about the genuine conflict in some situations of trans rights vs. sex/ religion based rights. 1/2

Jonny, I think most coppers are rolling their eyes, as we are, at this nonsense. The LGBT+ Police UK will have been trained by Stonewall, Mermaids et al, and will now be promulgating the doctrine. It's happened in organisations right across the publc and private sector.
-
That's why dealing with Stonewall is so important. The concepts originate there...

Police appear desperate to increase complaints because the Hate Crimes were generating no complaints. 2016 (latest figures) showed 16 transphobic crimes. How to justify claim that transpeople are at risk with no data anywhere to back it up?
-
Could you point me to the source of your data, please? Thanks.
-
That's not accurate. There's a link & some figures in my tweet from June 2017.https://twitter.com/FeministRoar/status/1019325601365315590 …
