Oh fucking hell, that’s my old school. A hotbed of proto-tories whose concept of wealth and class is almost irreparably skewed by the microcosm of wealth in which they operate. I mean, I got a bloody good education there, but poverty tourism isn’t going to enlighten those kids.

I applaud their donations to charity, but if they really want to affect social change and awareness among the students, they should be sending them on volunteer work or otherwise interacting with people they might normally never have a chance to engage meaningfully with.

They do have a *somewhat* good excuse for the hold music: IIRC Holst was a music teacher there.

'Austerity Day' is every day for some people, who are extremely lucky if they have a jacket potato and baked beans. Some 4.5m people are reliant on foodbanks in the UK. As a former volunteer can assure you they normally don't stock jacket potatoes. Tinned or powder only.

Wait what are their normal school lunches like? Jacket potatoes and beans is as luxurious as my school ever went and that was a grammar school. What are they eating?
