Some 🚨🚨🚨PERSONAL NEWS🚨🚨🚨: On Friday, the UK leaves the EU. And, after six years, three elections, two referendums & more Hannan blogs than I am strictly speaking proud of, I leave the New Statesman. I'm off to freelance for a bit & work on an *exciting secret project*.

If for some reason the Brexit 50p bothers you, I suggest saving every one you find up, and spending them on a weekend in Bradford -- home to the best statue of Cobden, with the phrase in its original setting.

“I am here to warn you that free trade is being choked,” says , who has taken his country out of the world’s biggest free trade zone, and put up non tariff barriers for all businesses I honestly don’t get how we are meant to cope with this utterly luminous filth.

I once visited a high school to do a talk. At the start I asked how many of the kids wanted to be an author when they grew up. Out of about 120, only 1 hand went up. When I finished my talk, I asked again. I'm proud to say, hand on heart, 0 hands went up. Scared that one kid good

  12. Seeing a lot of pious "Remainers, don't call Leavers stupid" tweets... are there any equivalents in which pious Brexiteers tell their allies not to call the other side traitors or some such?

  14. Last night I had a long dream in which I was looking at an excel spreadsheet of city populations, and trying to work out if it showed urban build up or primary urban area population. So I guess my question is, who can I sue about this

Yet another sighting of the claim that May’s deal was substantially softer than Johnson’s, even though last year every analyst said they were very similar except for the status of NI. Weird, this insistence that a soft Brexit was offered & thrown away.
