The primary job of the press is to hold the state accountable. And this person got fired for doing that. So many media outlets want to do public relations for the government. It’s grotesque & a total perversion of the job.

This menorah was lit tonight in Berlin. The German President “called the rebirth of Jewish life in Germany after the Holocaust a ‘miracle’, noting that there were now menorahs glowing in ‘tens of thousands of windows’ across the country this Hanukkah.” amp.france24.com/en/live-news/2

This photo always takes my breath away, taken in Germany during Hanukkah 1931. On the back of the photo Rachel Posner wrote this of her family menorah: Chanukah 5692 "Death to Judah" So the flag says "Judah will live forever" So the light answers yadvashem.org/artifacts/muse

The “white paper protests” in China are the most visible challenge to Xi Jinping since he took power in 2013, writes . Few expect the protests will topple the regime, but suddenly, Xi no longer looks infallible.

Elon: Listen, you need to know this will be a terrible, hostile place to work. And I need you all to affirmatively consent to this abusive sprint to make the company profitable for me. And at the end, I’ll still probably fire you. Cool? Twitter engineers: No. Elon: Wait, what?

MEANWHILE the US news reveals that Trump packed his own boxes in January, one US Senate candidate killed puppies (literally!), while pro-life guy paid for an abortion, and the FL governor stopped hurricane disaster aide for photo ops while wearing tall, *spotless* white boots.

And no woman should. Hijab like prayer and fasting is an act of faith. With coercion, it stops being faith and becomes authoritarian rule, oppression of the people. Which is exactly why an authoritarian state would impose it. It’s about control, not faith.

Iranian women carry Iran on their backs. They make up over 60% of college graduates. They are business owners, physicians, writers, truck drivers, and stay-at-home moms. And even if they were none of those things, they should not be forced to wear a hijab. #MahsaAmini

Right, everyone. I need to be serious for a moment. Because the greatest thing that ever happened is happening right now. I don't particularly care either way about the Queen. But the queue? The Queue is a triumph of Britishness. It's incredible.
