People listen, but you're ranting at the pointy exposed tip of the iceberg. That isn't the problem. Chip that off and a new point rolls to the surface. You should come dive into the depths and understand the fundamentals - they're fascinating!

Perhaps that's true, but I do feel Tom was attempting to be tongue in cheek here. I was genuinely surprised to see any sort of animosity like that. If I may ask, did you feel abused at all? Genuinely curious.

I felt it was somewhat offensive, but, also, it looks to me like the excuse-making that almost everyone does when it comes to these matters, and I have long ago drawn conclusions about how poorly I regard that excuse-making, so, I just mentally set the bit on the conversation.
