I don't comment on "news" much these days because there is way too much of that, and everything has become too stupid to deserve comment, but, this one bothers me a little more than usual because somehow some dimensions of it are more subtle.

There was no uncertainty that people would be unable to get gas later in the week or next week. Trucks are still delivering gas. This was not delivery drivers stocking up, this was doomsday preppers doing a LARP.
It sounds like there's panic reporting going on.
They did the same with food last spring. Every person needs to eat every day; is buying a month's worth of food for your family really "hoarding" when faced with a novel global situation that can demonstrably ruin supply chains?
