I don't comment on "news" much these days because there is way too much of that, and everything has become too stupid to deserve comment, but, this one bothers me a little more than usual because somehow some dimensions of it are more subtle.

Same thing happens in Florida every hurricane season. Although that's more directly related to the media reporting on shortages before they occur and constantly harping on it, whipping people into a frenzy.

There was no uncertainty that people would be unable to get gas later in the week or next week. Trucks are still delivering gas. This was not delivery drivers stocking up, this was doomsday preppers doing a LARP.
