How many web developers understand that a low-end integrated GPU on a laptop can draw full 4k screens of pixels at 3000 frames per second?

Right, I think we agree. Writing the sort of business apps I write at work, I don't need to write the sort of code you might on the compiler or a game engine. But I *should* know such things are possible and at least the principals by which I might do that.

Currently browsers are far from their own capability due to the massive tower of packages the industry insists on using.

Believe me, it does factor into decision-making. Most web apps can't afford to rewrite the stack. In the meantime I am enjoying watching http://makepad.dev progress

That's... not really fair when you look at the pace of technology progression in the front end engineering world. Blame ECMA for putting out so many language revisions.

> when the results are so far off from the capability of the machine They never knew the capabilities of the machine when no one drew 4k images at 3000 frames per second on an integrated Intel GPU. I can count all the GPU programmers that can do that, and it won't be a long list

Do you mean that web people don't know the limits of the machine because all the people who are capable of using the machine aren't in web?
