Looking on Netflix, every sci-fi show has the tag "Dystopian". I suspect there is a very big opportunity for a show-runner who can imagine stepping outside that mold.

If you really want to avoid "Dystopian", "Ominous", and "Dark", may I recommend Star Trek: Lower Decks? Or maybe The Mandalorian, though it's got its downer moments.

I watched season 1 of Mandalorian and by the end I just couldn't take it any more. Did not want to do 2 at all.
