we really don't talk enough about the fact that moderna developed its covid vaccine in two days. that's honest to god miracle shit. american industry truly is one of the greatest forces for good in human history.

Peoples' brains do not want to admit this fact, because the next thing to admit after that is how many people we killed, and how many economies we destroyed, waiting a year to roll it out. People are deeply bought into "wear two masks / Dr Fauci / etc", don't want to understand
how badly this thing was bungled at all levels (and how consistently it was bungled across most of the world, except in a few countries that people here somehow never talk about for some reason).

Guess people aren't talking about the other few countries because those countries succeeded *and* didn't rely on new technology to do so. For ROW it is an article of faith that we "need" vaccines to end the pandemic, and evidence to the contrary is dismissed with various excuses.
