Right? It’s conservative even here (DC). If this guy thinks that’s what “building on steroids” looks like...
One nice thing about letting buildings be taller is you can build mixed residential+retail space and have a nice 1-2 stories on the bottom with shops, places for people to hang out, etc. Seattle is doing this in newer buildings and it's very pleasant.

Instead of a bunch of walled-off space, your buildings become places for people to wander through, and they make city life richer.
