Only a tiny minority of professional programmers have a clear picture in their minds of how fast modern computers are. 99.9% have next to no idea. How does this affect software that is even conceived? (Ignoring, for a moment, what is actually built, which we know is very slow).

Objective? It sounds very much like an opinion. It‘s an interesting question; my issue is the manner in which you sometimes approach such things. There are more positive ways to pose this question, and certainly ways to support your hypothesis with evidence.

The positive ways have obviously not been working! Is what I said really negative though? Did I say that the people involved are garbage humans, or whatever the woke positive future-oriented kids say these days?
