bugs in the rules, made worse because this level is pushing me into exploring that buggy space to try to figure it out, etc. Maybe I am just being dumb and there is an obvious solution, but even so, I feel like it's the game's fault that I am confused and having a hard time.

I think jack confirmed the existence of at least one bug in the Thinky Puzzle Games Discord server. If you think you found a bug, you should message jack on there.

One seems clearly like a bug, another is a weird corner case behavior that while maybe not strictly a bug, it would feel like bad cheese if it were key to solving the level.

Okay, I finally figured it out. The answer is cool but the search space is too confusing and misleading and contains too many weird things. Many indies like to think that graphics don't matter, but this is a case where more communicative visuals would help a *lot*.

I played up to 4.3 or so before it got harder than I had interest in pursuing in one sitting, but I've played many of Jack's games and am more impressed at the consistent innovation within the framework of puzzlescript than polished puzzle design. They are usually made in a week.

I might be mistaken on how long was spent on this one in particular. Here's another one that I quite liked (and actually finished) https://www.puzzlescript.net/play.html?p=9ebe1e5ad44ac22259343de170a3b337 …

Also Easy Enigma, which I think made the rounds on Twitter a bit more widely: https://www.puzzlescript.net/play.html?p=a95269130d520a58adf710b692d1e52e …
