So apparently, the fancy new Unity Hub all-in-one updater/installer tool can't FUCKING RESUME A DOWNLOAD IF IT FAILS. Great job, fucking fantastic.

I mean, like, how are you even supposed to make that work? You want to somehow get some new bytes over the internet, and they end up stored next to the old bytes you already got? How would you even do that?!?
-
Luckily enough I can still just download the files through a browser and install them that way, but I mean....their application has to do one thing.

The downloader failing is obviously dumb, but so are manned flights to Jupiter. They cost a bajillon and nobody cares about them, except a niche group of sf enthusiasts. They were used as PR stunts in the cold war era, and now they may become a historical curiosity.

Wait what? Tell me about all these manned flights to Jupiter that were used as PR stunts.

In the past you could download your version of Cubase from their website, now they force you to go through a clunky “download assistant”, and when you finally have installed it and are logged in, and click to download the update you need... It opens that link in your browser.
