Well, not necessarily. We are in a situation in which, already, most people wouldn't need to work or work as much as they do. It's a systemic change that needs to happen alltogether. I recommend reading a bit of David Graebers "Bullshit Jobs" where there is more detail

I think it has some good basic points, but as the book goes on it becomes more and more bullshit itself, which is unfortunate.

By the time he started saying that the word "labor" was a conspiracy to make economic work seem as virtuous as a woman bearing a child, I couldn't take it any more, I had to stop reading and save my remaining brain cells.

I mean, it definitely is a hot take, and however anglocentric it may be, there is some merit to that claim as redefinition and association of words have always been a way to change the public image of things (IMO). Though I can certainly understand.

If that were the only issue I would have kept reading, but he had been gradually losing me over the course of the book, and that was the last straw. I would say maybe the first 1/4 or 1/3 of the book is the part that is worth reading.

I... disagree. But I guess that can also be a matter of preference as I didn't really have that experience you were having. yeee
