Supporting blasphemy because it means greater religious freedom for all is a terrible argument. Why are you conceding in the first place the godless value that freedom of speech ought to be limitless? Why can't there be constraints? Some things should always be off-limits.

I could live with 'we live in dar ul harb and have to abide by the laws of the kuffar but our persistent desire would be to disallow any slander against the Prophet PBUH' but the argument you pose it extremely flimsy.
