The incredible number of Sanders supporters on twitter who apparently don't realize the above tweet is literally just echoing the case the Sanders campaign is making for Sanders and clearly the best short/long term position is deeply comical.
Without addressing your conclusion, I've been saying for a while now that Trump's approval ratings are going to bounce back -- and we don't know how high -- whenever it starts looking like the worst is behind us. Paradoxically, the worse it gets, the more he might benefit.
This, maybe if it was October it might hurt him. By November this will have passed, and Trump is going to naturally claim all credit while Biden was basically non existent (when he wasn't calling for elections to go ahead during a pandemic)
His approval rating is extremely high and he is effectively a war time president.
