Like Pete says so often, it's not primarily an economic issue. ROI clearly agree in principle with being a member of the EU and will probably be willing to pay an economic price for that. Any closed border probably increases odds of a united Ireland too so another plus for them

It really doesn´t. Divergence seldom precipitates unity. The republics roads are shit, their health service is dire and Ulster prods will spend an evening or 20 telling you why they dont trust Dublin. Unsafe A&Es, GP fees and Pale/Gael divide that makes English look Scandinavian
