He is a Governor General. So the Irish have no direct say on UK Irish border.

Unfortunately for grandiose tub Brexit we clearly do. Should it be our final say alone? It will be an EU frontier in future, the EU as a whole must consider it, that is your fault, not the EU's, not ours.

Actually go back to the 1920s and that border is there because the south left.....so you kinda put in there.

I think perhaps you need to revisit not just the 1920's but also the 1910's. Clearly you understand nothing of how the border was created! If I were you I'd start even earlier with the various attempts at home rule acts for Ireland under Gladstone.1 antwoord 0 retweets 0 vind-ik-leuks -

And technically, if you wish to split hairs, it wasn't "the South" that left. In the end, the Belfast government formed under the 1920 Government of Ireland Act opted out of the dominion, Saorstát Éireann.

Talk about clutching at straws! Seriously! I'll grant you this much, that is the first time I have seen this "suggestion".
It's simple. The UK is screwing itself up. The solution is simple. Don't do it. Nothing else makes any sense in the short medium or long term.1 antwoord 0 retweets 0 vind-ik-leuks
It is a proposal. No more. A mature country and electorate would consider it over a hard border.

A mature country would have worked out what it wanted and how to go about it before triggering Article 50. It wouldn't be flailing about looking for "innovative" solutions late in the day while still trying to decide what it wants.
