A Tory MP was crushed to death during the Rainhill Trials. The UK went on to dominate the industrial age. Yes sad but accidents are inevitable over a sufficiently long time course. Terrible for the family.

Indeed, although the Rainhill death was due to the MP’s own stupidity, rather than a faulty train. This death was a pedestrian who was nothing to do with the tests, simply going about her daily business. The technology is faulty and should not be out in public.

The software will have to be programmed to take decisions to risk one accident to avoid another - e.g. serving into other lane or mounting pavement. Do you measure pedestrians and other road users differently in those algorithms?
