The suffrage of women is feted as an event for women. No. It was a revolution for suffrage. Still almost a third of us choose not to vote for our leaders in the UK in any GE; in Ulster today hundreds of thousands of our citizens are not represented in Parliament.
Not all of them. MPs are to represent everyone not just their own clan. This shoddy legacy should be banned. Why should people have a right to vote and then not have a representative of any kind? Despicable.

I'm certainly not defending it ! In Westmorland women had to wait until 1924 to vote as the Tory MP Col Sir John Weston had the 'coupon', so the post war elections were uncontested.
